Someone watching it who is not you.

Monitoring, patching, backups, and cost review running continuously — with a monthly report in language your board understands rather than a dashboard nobody opens.

When this is the priority

This is the priority when nobody owns the estate day to day, patches slip, or the bill grows without anyone able to explain why.

It is optional. Many clients take the handover and run it themselves, which is a legitimate outcome and one we document for deliberately.

What we do

Watch it, patch it, and explain the bill.

Four things run continuously. The monthly report is the deliverable you actually read — what happened, what it cost, and what we recommend next.

Monitoring and response

Alerting with on-call routing and post-incident notes that name the cause.

CloudWatch · EventBridge

Patch management

A schedule that runs, with exceptions surfaced rather than silently skipped.

Systems Manager

Backup verification

Backups checked, not assumed, with periodic restore tests.

AWS Backup

Cost and FinOps

Right-sizing, commitments, and allocation so spend has an owner.

How it runs

Instrument first, then improve.

You cannot fix reliability you cannot see. The first month is about establishing a baseline; the improvement work follows from what it shows.

01

Take over monitoring

Instrumentation, alert thresholds, and on-call routing established.

Month 1
02

Establish schedules

Patch windows and backup verification running on a cadence.

Month 1
03

Fix the recurring causes

The failure modes the baseline exposed, addressed in priority order.

Months 2–3
04

Report and review

Monthly report, cost review, and a standing recommendation list.

Ongoing

What changes

Before and after.

Before

  • Nobody watching the estate day to day
  • Patches applied when someone remembers
  • A bill that grows unexplained

After

  • Alerting with a named person responding
  • Patch and backup schedules that run
  • Spend broken down by workload and owner

Honest limits

Where this is the wrong answer.

This is not a substitute for your own team understanding the platform. Handover documentation is included so it never becomes one.
A retainer cannot fix an architecture that is fundamentally wrong. Where that is the case, we will say so and scope the fix separately.
Rolling monthly means you can stop whenever your team is ready — we would rather that than an unnecessary dependency.

Next step

Who is watching your estate today?

A short conversation first, then a bounded assessment. You end it with a plan and a price, whether or not you continue with us.
