Solution area 02Framework stages 01–04

Move off ageing infrastructure without closing for a weekend.

Migration in rehearsed waves, sequenced by risk, each one reversible. For a business that cannot stop trading, the cutover should be the least eventful hour of the project.

When this is the priority

This is the priority when hardware is ageing, the estate cannot scale for a busy period, or a system nobody wants to touch is running something critical.

It is not the priority if the current platform is stable and affordable. Modernising a system that works is a cost with no return attached.

What we do

Assess, architect, secure, then move.

Most of the work happens before anything moves. By cutover day the sequence has already been run end to end against production-scale data.

AWS migration

Workloads moved in waves with a rehearsed cutover and tested rollback.

MGN · DMS

Application modernisation

Legacy applications replatformed or decomposed one component at a time.

ECS · Lambda

Database migration

Continuous replication until the switch, with row-level validation first.

DMS · RDS

CI/CD and IaC

Environments defined in code with an automated path to production.

CloudFormation · CodePipeline

How it runs

Rehearse, then move.

Every wave has an exit condition backed by a number. If validation shows drift, the date moves — that rule has saved more weekends than any tool we use.

01

Assess

Inventory, dependencies, and the cost of running it on AWS.

Weeks 1–2
02

Architect and secure

Target design, cost model, and the security baseline deployed first.

Weeks 2–3
03

Rehearse

Cutover run end to end against production-scale data.

Week 4
04

Cut and hold

Switch, then keep the old estate warm for a full business cycle.

Weeks 5–6

What changes

Before and after.

Before

  • Servers nobody wants to touch
  • Cannot scale for a busy period
  • No environment to test changes in

After

  • Workloads running on managed AWS services
  • Capacity that follows demand
  • Reproducible environments defined in code

Honest limits

Where this is the wrong answer.

Lift-and-shift alone rarely reduces cost. If the goal is a lower bill, the work is optimisation, not migration.
Some applications should be replaced rather than moved. We will say when buying beats rebuilding.
You pay for duplicate infrastructure through the hold period — typically four to eight weeks.

Next step

What is running on hardware you do not trust?

A short conversation first, then a bounded assessment. You end it with a plan and a price, whether or not you continue with us.
